Topic 1
Based on my experience in week 1 that was taught by my Madam Sairah is, we as new students must able to cooperate the transition from school to university life. It is because when we become university students we have responsibilities that we must carry until the end and also it is our chance to change our lives to become better in the future. The differences between high school and college life were shown in the picture below:
In this topic, we also got to learn about characteristics of Visual, Auditory, and Kinesthetic Modes which is quite fun for me to learn because it makes us discover the true ways that should make us learn even better.
1. Visual
Visual learners are mostly preferred their learning style through visual if you have the ability in strong visualization and can remember such as objects, shapes, and pictures easily and it is surely your style and also you are able to learn fast by reading, and by watching films, videos, and demonstrations. You also have the ability to imagine to make it easier to remember.
2. Auditory
Auditory learners are preferred to learn by hearing which means is when your teacher or lecturer gives some speech about their subject you will find it much more understandable easy to remember. Also, this way of learning is much more effective if you reading out loud while studying.
3. Kinesthetic
Topic 2
In this topic, we got to learn about Goal Setting. Goal setting refers to the process of deciding what you want to accomplish and devising a plan to achieve those desired results. For me, as a student, my goal is to get on the dean list and try to become the best student. I am very sure that most of the students will agree with this statement because that is our purpose as students when studying in the university.
For me, goal is something that everyone desired to obtain it but we mostly lost it because of side-track from the wrong move that we made previously, but eventually, in the future, we was able to overcome it if we seek the knowledge to fix it.
Characteristics Of Goals
- Should be self-chosen
- Should be moderately challenging
- Should be realistic
- Should be measurable
- Should be specific
- Should be finite
- Should be positive
Topic 3
In this topic, we got to learn about Time Management. Most of the student nowadays are unable to utilize their time because of most common reasons such as procrastinate against assignment, spend more on their time for useless activity such as watching movie, going out with friends when they realize they have work they got to do and due dateline are nearer and still ignored about it. Below this is about how we should utilize our time management to the fullest:
This lesson also taught me how to manage my time by doing the activities below:
1. Fixed-Commitment Calendar
3. Prioritized To-Do List
Topic 4
Does any of you ever wonder how to boost our brain capacity in remembering information? In this topic, I will talk about strategies that we should follow in order to enhance our brain capabilities inserting information, and to make the information stay for a long time.
First of all, we need to understand our brain memory process, we have 5 and that is sensory memory, short-term memory, immediate memory, working memory, and long-term memory.
1. Sensory Memory :
Sensory memory is also known as the sensory registers. This memory is essential to our senses such as vision, hearing, smell, taste, and touch. Most of these stimuli are unimportant and are therefore quickly forgotten.
2.Short-Term Memory
Short-term memory is also known as primary or active memory, is the information we are currently aware of or thinking about. The information found in short-term memory comes from paying attention to sensory memories.
3. Immediate Memory :
Immediate memory is a type or stage of memory in which an individual recalls information recently presented, such as a street address or telephone number, although this information may be forgotten after its immediate use.
4. Working Memory :
Working memory is one of the parts of short-term memory which is concerned with immediate conscious perceptual and linguistic processing.
5. Long-Term Memory :
Long term memory is one of the phases or types of memory responsible for the storage of information for an extended period of time.
Memory Strategies

Our concentration can also improve by some type of food that we eat for example:
Concentration Chart
Reading Text
Our memory based on the image below is what we have learned the best way to memorise the information is throughout teaching others because when we try to explain the topic that could not understand by others it improves our brain capabilities to remember it by force and make the disciple understand better because we paraphrase the information in much more simple way and that makes them understand even better, therefore the information that was taught by our lecturer, are able to make it in a long-term memory which mean in it you always remember it better and clearer.
Topic 5
In this topic, I have learned about taking lecturer note which mean is we must always jot down information that was given by the lecturer during the class session. It is because, our lectures sometimes give us unconscious valuable information that was outside of the book, we as students need to notice it and write it down using our own words so we can understand it much easier. Therefore our note-taking action surely will make us proud during examination time because this note surely able to be the key to our success to get into the dean list. There are many ways on how we as student able to make effective not taking and that is:
In addition, there is another simpler way of taking note effectively and that is: 1. Taking exercise using the cornel method
2.Two columns method
Topic 6
Last but not least, how we as students need to calculate our GPA. For you guys' information GPA stands for 'Grade Point Average'. This 'GPA' will determine our grades in each of our end semesters. This is our main goal for all students because this will lead to enhance our future to become better. Thus, we must always work smart and hard in order to become the best out the best.
This is how we calculate our GPA:
When we calculate all of our marks we will know which grade we get based on the image below:
